Gloucester and Wiltshire Law Society's Legal Excellence Awards Dinner 2017

Dear friends and colleagues,

RamonaExciting times! I am immensely proud to launch our Legal Excellence Annual Awards Dinner 2017.

In 2016 GWILS was re-launched with a new committee, brand and fresh enthusiasm. I was honoured to be elected for a second year as President with my goal to build on the firm foundations the committee had laid and to continue representing the local legal community.

These awards are about looking around at those you work with every day and really appreciating what you and they do, daily. I urge you to take a moment to put into words who you think might have gone that extra mile for a client, colleague or community. And what about you? Be bold and tell us what makes you, your team and your firm extra special.  This is an incredible opportunity to hear about just some of the great work being done and the stories the counties have to tell.

Here’s to a fantastic evening of celebration and good company with old and new friends.

Very best wishes

Ramona Derbyshire
President, Gloucester & Wiltshire Law Society

Bob CramptonBob Crampton - ITV Weather Presenter

Born in South Africa, Bob returned to these shores aged 11 and has been an ITV weatherman for nearly a decade.

Bob started in television 40 years ago as a reporter with Westward TV in Plymouth. He came to HTV in Bristol in 1983 handling everything from directing, producing, presenting and Deputy Head of News.

Bob has worked on many programmes including the news, current affairs, travel shows, consumer programmes, and documentaries.

Here are 3 things you may not know about our Host:

  • He was a child model for newspaper ads
  • In his teens he had such a bad stutter he couldn't answer the phone
  • He shot a documentary in Afghanistan under the noses of the Taliban

Throughout his career there have been many ups and downs. However, when asked the question – ‘Are you happy?’, his reply - ‘I wouldn't give it up for the world!’

Today, Bob’s greatest thrill is still to present everything live.
